Summer Home Maintenance Checklist

With summer just around the corner, it’s time to get your home in tip-top shape for friends, family & summer barbecues. So before you head off for a well-deserved summer vacation, take the time to check the following home maintenance tasks off your to-do list.

    Air conditioning tune up:

In order to keep your Air Conditioning running cool and your summer electric bills low, a routine AC tune-up should be the first on your priority list.

Home owner tip: You can reduce your monthly AC bill by changing out your air filters often. Experts advise changing them out once a month when using your unit on a daily basis.

    Roof check:

Your roof should be inspected yearly to ensure that there you don’t run into any problems. Checking your roof regularly will ensure that small problems won’t turn into larger problems in the long-run. Along with having your roof inspected annually, it is also important to clean your roof to avoid any permanent water damage.

    Clean Gutters:

Cleaning your gutters regularly will prevent cloggage and leaks. It is recommended that gutters should be cleaned twice a year, once in the late fall and once in the early summer.

    Window Check:

Ensure that hot summer days stay outside by checking and maintaining your homes sealant on your windows. Check weather-stripping for any faults and replace it immediately if there is an issue.
